After witnessing a number of church interviews of prospective pastors where there was no clear requirement of the candidate to explain their call from God to preach the gospel, combined with the decline in baptisms in the SBC for more than a dozen years, and the sad truth that in some years there are about 10,000 of the 45,500+ SBC churches that do not report a single baptism, demands a new look at what the Bible teaches about God’s calling to salvation for all, and his calling for ministers/pastors to preach the gospel for the salvation of souls and be an example of evangelism in local churches
